Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Demonstrator – successful bids

Aberdeen City Council

Aberdeen City Council has been awarded £2.2 million to retrofit an estimated 100 homes, creating a decarbonised neighbourhood. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with IRT Surveys, SMS Plc and Robertson Group to deliver the project. It is expected to support 39 local jobs.

Argyll & Bute Council

Argyll & Bute Council has been awarded £1.2 million to retrofit an estimated 130 homes, including across 12 islands. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Argyll Community Housing Association and OVO (S) Energy Solutions Ltd to deliver the project. It is expected to support 38 local jobs.

Clackmannanshire Council

Clackmannanshire Council has been awarded £300,000 to retrofit an estimated 15 homes, creating a decarbonised neighbourhood. It will install external wall insulation and window glazing, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Energy Action Scotland and Everwarm to deliver the project.

Cornwall Council

Cornwall Council has been awarded £1 million to retrofit an estimated 75 homes, creating decarbonised neighbourhoods. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Coastline Housing Ltd. and OVO (S) Energy Solutions Ltd to deliver the project. It is expected to support 42 local jobs.

Fenland District Council

Fenland District Council has been awarded £4.5 million to retrofit an estimated 160 homes, creating 2 decarbonised neighbourhoods. It will install external wall insulation and window glazing, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Baily Garner, Clarion Housing Group, Engie, Enhabit, Saving Energy, Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council and United Living to deliver the project. It is expected to support 68 local jobs.

Leeds City Council

Leeds City Council has been awarded £4.2 million to retrofit an estimated 190 homes, creating a decarbonised neighbourhood. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps coupled with solar PV panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Better Homes Yorkshire and ENGIE Regeneration to deliver the project. It is expected to support 45 local jobs.

London Borough of Barking and Dagenham

London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has been awarded £9.6 million to retrofit an estimated 230 homes in London. They will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Energiesprong UK, London Borough of Ealing, London Borough of Enfield, London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, London Borough of Haringey, London Borough of Lambeth and Turner & Townsend to deliver the project.

Manchester City Council

Manchester City Council has been awarded £3.1 million to retrofit an estimated 164 homes, creating a decarbonised neighbourhood. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with window glazing, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with One Manchester to deliver the project. It is expected to support 65 local jobs.

Northampton Borough Council

Northampton Borough Council has been awarded £3 million to retrofit an estimated 150 homes, creating a decarbonised neighbourhood. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Northampton Partnership Homes to deliver the project. It is expected to support 45 local jobs.

Nottingham City Council

Nottingham City Council has been awarded £2.3 million to retrofit an estimated 104 homes, creating a decarbonised neighbourhood. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Energiesprong UK and Nottingham City Homes to deliver the project. It is expected to support 40 local jobs.

Nottinghamshire County Council

Nottinghamshire County Council has been awarded £800,000 to retrofit an estimated 25 homes. It will install external wall insulation, window glazing and suspended floor insulation, to keep residents warm through the winter months. It is expected to support 10 local jobs.

Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

Across three projects, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has been awarded £19.4 million to retrofit an estimated 535 homes, creating decarbonised neighbourhoods. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with several partners to deliver the projects, including Build Test Solutions, London School of Economics and University of Sussex. This is expected to support over 500 local jobs.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council

Stratford-on-Avon District Council has been awarded £1.4 million to retrofit an estimated 69 homes, creating a decarbonised neighbourhood. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Heart of England Housing Association Limited (Orbit Housing) to deliver the project. It is expected to support 50 local jobs.

Stroud District Council

Stroud District Council has been awarded £1 million to retrofit an estimated 50 homes, creating decarbonised neighbourhoods. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Cheltenham Borough Council, Cheltenham Borough Homes and Two Rivers Housing to deliver the project.

Warwick District Council

Warwick District Council has been awarded £1.4 million to retrofit an estimated 50 homes, creating a decarbonised neighbourhood. It will install external wall insulation, window glazing and suspended floor insulation, to keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Oxford Brooks University to deliver the project. It is expected to support 25 local jobs.

Wychavon District Council

Wychavon District Council has been awarded £5.8 million to retrofit an estimated 236 homes, creating decarbonised neighbourhoods. It will install external wall insulation and replace oil and gas heating with new air-source heat pumps, along with solar panels, to improve energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint and keep residents warm through the winter months. It will work with Citizen Housing Group, Rooftop Housing Group, Trent and Dove Housing and Trident Group to deliver the project. It is expected to support 100 local jobs.
